On Sunday, March 20, 2016 Deputy Sheriff Carl A. Koontz, 26, was shot and killed as he and other deputies served an arrest and search warrants in connection to a narcotics case. Carl was a School Resource Officer at Northwestern High School and was loved by all the students and administrators. The Northwestern foundation created a scholarship in remembrance of Officer Koontz. The Carl Koontz scholarship is given to a senior boy and girl at Northwestern High School that has shown leadership and dedication throughout their high school years. We will be selling wristbands and T-Shirts in memory of Carl. Wrist bands are $3 each or 5 for $10 and you can purchase them up till December 16. T-Shirts are $12 each or $15 for plus sizes, and you can purchase them up till December 11th. You can pick these items up at the Northwestern Girls Basketball game against Heritage Christian.
