An event every week that begins at 1:00 pm on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, repeating until November 18, 2023
Form from Chaos, an exhibit of artwork by Patrick Redmon will open on Thursday, October 19 and run through November 18th at the Kokomo Art Center.
A reception will be held on Saturday, October 21st at 6:00 pm where visitors can chat with Patrick and learn more about his art.
Patrick Redmon grew up in Peru, IN, where he developed a love of art, music, nature, and science. Through the years, Patrick’s art has evolved, with the help of great teachers, and it has been recognized at local and national levels.
‘From grade school through high school, Patrick had teachers who helped me evolve as an artist by teaching me specific techniques. However, it was not until after I abandoned technique, that I discovered the real joy of creating art.
Rather than focusing on a product, I tried focusing on the process. I painted with complete abandon, suspending all thought of what I wanted my artwork ‘to be’ or what I ‘should’ be doing. I ignored thoughts of judgment, until suddenly, I was amazed at what appeared. From chaos, came multitudes of form: People and animals, buildings, fields, clouds, smoke, etc. My mind was creating form from the pattern of my brush’s movement.
I believe everyone holds the power to create, and I want to pass on this joyful process to inspire as many people as possible to explore their creativity.’
