Sabrina Carpenter has shared the official music video for “Taste,” directed by Dave Meyers and featuring Jenna Ortega. Taste is off Sabrina’s sixth studio album Short n’ Sweet, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 100 charts.
The video for Taste includes a series of campy horror references, with Carpenter and Ortega donning black dresses similar to Goldie Hawn and Meryl Streep in 1992’s Death Becomes Her. Ortega also sports a similar nurse costume to Daryl Hannah’s in Kill Bill, and there’s also an ominous shower scene similar to the 1960 classic horror film, Psycho.
Short n’ Sweet also includes two of Carpenter’s previously released singles, “Espresso” and “Please Please Please” –“Espresso” was the third fastest song to hit one billion streams in Spotify history, while “Please Please Please” became Carpenter’s first No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100.
Carpenter will make her MTV Video Music Awards mainstage performance debut later this month, and is gearing up to embark on the Short n’ Sweet Tour, which kicks off September 23rd in Columbus. The 33-date tour will hit cities across the US and Canada including New York, Los Angeles, Nashville, Toronto, Austin, and more.
